Welcome to Viper One Six

It has taken me several years to get to this point in my writing career – per se – and I want to  thank you for visiting my blog and reading my posts. I have always loved writing. I remember one of my earliest serious attempts at it when I was a young lad. I wrote a poem about my grandfather titled “This old codger” which I still have to this day.

I began writing my first novel manuscript while I was in Afghanistan. I huddled in my Chu typing away at a story loosely based upon my own experiences in a neighboring country – Pakistan. I remember not stopping even while incoming was hitting the Forward Operating Base (FOB) I was stationed at – I was in the zone.

Since then my writing has grown and besides this blog I have a weekly column and blog in the Leavenworth Times, a Gate House Media daily newspaper. Many of the posts on this page were first published in the Leavenworth Times. Here in my blog, Viper One Six, I am able to expound on some of those columns and offer more insight. I also take the opportunity to write new content that is only posted here.

Oh, and if you’re wondering why my Blog Site is named Viper One Six, well, it was my call sign in Afghanistan. It has sort of stuck with me.

    • Tim,

Thanks for asking and as you know this is a project long in the making. It has undergone several revisions but now sits on my desk and awaits publishing. I may end up self-publishing it as a way to get it “out there”. As I promised, you will get one of the first copies. Dave

Hi Dave, I met you several years ago at Regent through Steve Kurrle. He just sent me a link to an article on your blog. I would like to follow your blog, but it keeps telling me to enter a valid email address. I do give it a valid email address but doesn’t like it! Please help! Thanks.
